The first Firecracker 5k took place in Mound City,  Kansas, last Saturday evening, on June 1st! We had 120 runners and walkers for the 5k, and 20 participants for the kids fun run. Thank you to all of our great sponsors and volunteers. We could not have done it without you. Thank you to all the participants, who made this event so much fun. The Firecracker 5k lit up the night with glow sticks, glow bracelets and flashlights, new personal bests were set, and we are proud to make a donation of $1,100.00 to the Commodities fund of MC United Methodist Church.

The participants received a Firecracker 5k event t-shirt, glow necklaces, as well as goodie bags full of $30 worth of discounts/coupons and Larabars. The 5k was chip timed for accurate race results by Red Team Racing.

The top three overall winners of the 5k were as follows: 1st place was won by Tim Francis (Rock Port, MO) with a time of 17:44.13, 2nd place was taken by  Brandon Hensley (Pleasanton, KS) with a time of 19:13.65, and 3rd place went to Martin Mendoza (Prescott, KS) with a time of 19:29.40.
